Jeremiah 17:8

Such a beautiful reminder of how we are to live with Christ!

“They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:8

The High Places

valleyfloorAs I stood on the ridge that overlooked the rolling foothills, green pastures, and valley below, I was flooded with joy and gladness. I felt like I was up on the high places with the Lord, looking down into the valley I had once been a part of. It had been a long journey, and I felt peace and joy sweep over me as I took a deep breath, taking in the view before me, and remembering the past. I was so thankful I was no longer down in the valley, but up in the high places communing with my Good Shepherd. Click here to continue.

Just Keep Walking!

keepwalkingWhen you feel you have no more strength … just keep walking.

When your body aches with pain… just keep walking.

When the climb before you appears just too steep… just keep walking.

When you don’t understand why… just keep walking.

When you feel numb… just keep walking.

When you can’t see a purpose… just keep walking.

I have found that when I am feeling like I just cannot take another step… if I just put that foot forward and ask the Lord to renew my strength, provide healing, give meaning, and I put my trust in Him… amazing things happen! God has a reason. God has a purpose. He does not reveal why, but He has a plan and He knows what is best for us. We must trust Him always, in all things, no matter what. Submit to His leading and the situation, whatever it may be. Trust and rest in Him. The climb is so much sweeter when we faithfully trudge on with the Savior!

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” -Isaiah 40:31

Habakkuk 3:19

Hindsfeet“The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like Hind’s Feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine High Places.”   ~Habakkuk 3:19.

In order to follow our Good Shepherd, we must follow Him and His ways, not our ways. We may think a certain decision seems logical or right, but after speaking with our Heavenly Father and perhaps struggling and even stating our case, we find that we must deny ourselves and our will in order to follow our Good Shepherd. His path may not seem safe or even right, but we must Trust Him and His leading as He knows best the way in which we should go.

His path is always right even though it may seem difficult, painful, lonely, or just too steep of a climb. We must continue to trust Him and as we do, we will soon see that His way is showered with joy and blessing as we rest and trust in His unfailing love for us. When we are traveling with the Lord, He makes our paths straight. Matthew 11:30 says, “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” I have found this to be true in my own life. When I stop fighting for myself and rely on the Lord, life is much easier. Resting in Him, when achieved, is a wonderful place to be. When we can’t make sense of life and we can’t fix what we perceive to be a bad or hurtful situation, trusting in Jesus will bring us the peace we need to continue the climb and path our Good Shepherd has set before us.

As we continue to climb with our Shepherd we will begin seeing the beauty that is all around us on our journey. We will begin to see things from His perspective, through joyful eyes. There could be no better place to be than with our Good Shepherd resting and rejoicing with Him in the High Places, safe, secure, and at peace. Look to the Good Shepherd and ask Him to take you to the High Places. “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Move Over Mr. Easter Bunny!

We are celebrating Christ’s resurrection! This should be the BIGGEST worldwide celebration of all! Had Christ not died for our sins and risen up out of the grave, we would be without Hope. But now, we are given the gift of spending eternity with Christ. I am so grateful we are not shut off from the Creator of the Universe. What a miserable life that would be!

I can’t image not having the Lord with me in my life journey. He is the only One who will never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). My Savior, Provider, Healer, Friend, Husband, Father to my children, and even myself! Thank you Jesus for dying for all mankind and that You sent your Holy Spirit to help us through this life here on earth. Jesus is alive! Yes, He is risen… indeed. We rejoice in You! You are God and You are Great!

Look at the Birds!

Matthew 6:25-27

EagleBird watching is intriguing. Such amazing creatures. Did you know that Jesus commands us to look at the birds? In Matthew 6:26 Jesus says,  “Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”

If you watch them, you will see what joyous creations they are! They are simply beautiful. Many sizes and colors, they sing and soar, and perch peacefully in the safety of high places. Birds playfully chase each other through the air. They watch from up high, then drop down when its safe. Carefree.

free t flyWe are to soar. We are to sit in the high places with our Savior, relaxing and trusting in Him, knowing that He is in Control of our situations. We are to be joyful! We are to sing, rejoice, and give praise to the Lord.

Slow down today. Take some time, wherever you are, to look at the birds. You will be amazed and blessed by their presence. And, you will then understand why Jesus commands us to, “look at the birds!”

Trusting in God…

Listen better“I acknowledge it often seems more difficult to trust God than to obey Him. The moral will of God given to us in the Bible is rational and reasonable. The circumstances in which we must trust God often appear irrational and inexplicable….Gods wordObeying God is worked out within well-defined boundaries of God’s revealed will. Trusting God is worked out in an arena that has no boundaries. We do not know the extent, the duration, or the frequency of the painful, adverse circumstances in which we must frequently trust God. We are always coping with the unknown.”  -Jerry Bridges

Nothing is Impossible for the Lord our God

Habbukkuk 3:17-19

DSCN5610“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,  yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” I thank the Lord because He is God and He is Great and nothing is impossible for the Lord our God. Great and Mighty is He! Thank you Jesus I rejoice in You! You make my paths straight and offer blessing even when it is undeserved.

Jesus… the Best Valentine

love is...Valentines Day in the United States is probably the most recognized and celebrated holiday we have and it is all about honoring the love of our life. Flowers, candy, and sweet loving sentiments are all expected to be a part of this day! And how exciting it is when someone pours out their love for you!

The Bible says that their is no greater love than this; to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:3 Christ poured out His love for us, for all of mankind. That means you! “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Imagine having the perfect valentine. One who would never hurt you or let you down. ValentineHe will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, He is always here with me, loving me, in spite of my faults and shortcomings. He thinks the world of me, as I am His precious daughter and bride. He blesses me continually, as I feel His presence in my life. He romances me daily by showing me a doe and her fawn first thing in the morning, showering me with bouquets of flowers in my yard, and painting a beautiful sunset for me most every evening. I am grateful for Christ’s love and His acceptance of who I am. Thank  you Jesus for loving me enough to die for me and all the rottenness about me! I am so undeserving. I am thankful that salvation is a free gift we receive just by accepting Christ as our Savior. There is nothing I could ever do to earn Your acceptance. Thank you Jesus for your love, grace, and mercy. I love you Lord! And You, Jesus, are the Perfect Valentine… and You are Mine and I am yours.whole heart Everyday Valentine!

Rejection

Nothing to offer

We all want to feel a sense of belonging, worth, and competence. But we need to not seek this from the world or any one person. We need to fill this void with Christ. When you feel rejected you must remember, you are a child of God. The Lord loves you so much that Christ laid down His life for you. Romans 8:11 says the Holy Spirit dwells in you and gives you life. The Holy Spirit is your Helper. God says, you are in the Family! No one else matters because Jesus loves you unconditionally. Thank the Lord for His unconditional love!
